Question by jackie m: Can having sex the night before a pap test get abnormal results?

I had a pap test it came back abnormal said I had some hpv show up on the test. They want me to go back for another which I will but want to know if I had sex before the test would it make it come back abnormal? And I got my period the day after the test.

Yes it can.

Don't stress about it, a lot of women get abnormal paps at least once in their life, many turn out to be nothing.
